Final Reflection

Thinking back on the start of C&I 306, I have learned a lot about technology. I have found there are many uses with technology. Not only for personal uses but also for a classroom setting.I have found there are many ways to use technology from blogs to twitter that can be useful and fun in the classroom. I have learned a lot about computers that are helpful from basic commands to sharing documents with others. I have also learned to be a little more relaxed around computers. I have learned to try not to get upset about little things that go wrong. I can see myself using a class blog, google earth, and maybe igoogle in the classroom. I don't see myself using twitter. I just didn't care for the setup. It's not a bad thing, its just not for me. My thoughts have changed since I have taken C&I 306. I have learned to be a little more comfortable around computers and relized just how important technology is today. Many children are very computer savy and it is important that I (as a future teacher) keep up with todays technology. Advice that I have for the future is to keep up and informed on computers. In-corporate technology in the classroom to benefit me and students.

Thoughts on Google Earth!

I like using Google Earth. I think it is a great idea to use this program in the classroom. I think it gives students a better idea of a world view. I think it could be used just to show kids where places are in the world. A good idea is to have students watch the news and find the place they are talking about in the story. The students could start out local and move global. I think it would be lots of fun! I like the idea of using Google Earth in the classroom.

Initial thoughts on using Twitter in the classroom

Twitter to me is okay. I am not really sure on my thoughts about using it in a classroom. If it is an interest to the students I am sure it can be educational to everyone. I have read that it can work well. I am sure that with using  Twitter, there is going to have to be ground rules and knowledge of risks involved. I think that if the students are interested then it could be a great idea to invest the time to check out the experience. It could be wonderful.

Thoughts on using Google Docs

I like using Google Docs. I thought it was straight forward and easy to use. I felt that using Google Docs allowed me to put together a project with friends and not really have to make plans to get together. We could all do it on our own time which was very helpful to me. Google Docs has many things to offer and pretty easy to understand. I liked using it and I would use Google Doc again.

Thoughts on Wiki

I think Wiki is okay! Not the most user-friendly but it is nice to know how to use it! I am not sure about all the details yet but I am sure  I will learn.
